Marcus Prasad is a Ph.D. student in Communication Studies at McGill University, advised by Dr. Bobby Benedicto. His research explores film philosophy, queer theory, horror, and their intersections. In 2020, He received his M.A. in Art History from The University of British Columbia. His thesis explored overlapping queer concepts across contemporary horror film and postwar American art, and was funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada. He has also been the recipient of the Patsy and David Heffel Award in Art History, the Ian Wallace Award in Art History, and the University of Toronto Master Essay Prize. Marcus' academic work has been published by Cinephile, CineAction, and Wreck among others. He has been Editor-in-Chief of SAD Magazine, and Secretary of the Board of Directors at Richmond Art Gallery and Access Gallery in Vancouver.
